On the day of your procedure you will arrive to our office in Wayzata. To assist in your comfort following the procedure we suggest wearing loose fitting clothes to your appointment. Our medical staff will take some vitals to assess your health on the day of your procedure. You will be required to have a designated driver on the day of the procedure. Dr. Erhard will go over the procedure with you again prior to the surgery, we will walk through each process step by step as your surgery moves forward, and address any last minute concerns you may have.

Once the procedure is over you will be brought to a recovery room where you may be reunited with your designated driver and your vitals will be monitored. Once you are feeling well enough to go home, we will release you with a list of post-operative instructions which our staff will go over with you in great detail. A follow-up appointment will be schedule to monitor your progress.

You can expect a fairly easy recovery from our in-office liposuction. A prescription for pain medication will also be given to you following your procedure to assist in further comfort during your recovery as well as an antibiotic to prevent infection in the incision site. You will need to ensure you have someone there to assist you for a minimum of 24 hours. In most cases you will be able to return to work immediately on the Monday following your procedure and your normal activities in about a week, depending on the number of areas you had treated and the locations.

One of the main differences in normal liposuction versus laser assisted liposuction is that you will notice results quickly. Most patients begin to see immediate results within the first week following the procedure. Standard liposuction does not procedure results for 6 weeks to 6 months depending on swelling and bruising of the patient. The in-office laser liposuction procedure leaves little swelling and bruising to the patient, because of this patients do not need to wait for the “swelling to go down” to see their immediate results.
